Zelensky Responds to Assassination Attempt Against Him
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated in an interview with the Guardian that an assassination attempt was made against him. He mentioned that "certain individuals" had tried to "remove" him.
“There were gunshots, and several people were killed at the presidential residence,” Zelensky said, adding that the incident occurred at the beginning of the conflict. However, he did not specify who was among the casualties from the gunfire he mentioned.
It is noteworthy that last year, the Security Service of Ukraine announced the detention of two colonels from the State Security Service of Ukraine on suspicion of plotting an assassination attempt on Zelensky. According to the agency's report, they had intended to track Zelensky and other high-ranking officials before executing the assassination attempt.
