Levon Kocharyan on Accusations Regarding the Surrender of Meghri
Heads are banging against the wall. This was stated today, February 12, during a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly by Levon Kocharyan, a member of the "Armenia" faction, reacting to the authorities' accusations that the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, negotiated the surrender of Meghri.
"The documents that have been published show very well their previously claimed opposite. The reality is what has been stated many times. Such a proposal was made by Heydar Aliyev, and as a result of those negotiations, the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs provided the parties with a document that spoke of the unification of Artsakh with Armenia, while Azerbaijan was merely getting a road that would link Nakhichevan with Azerbaijan. It is even noted in the document that neither the substrate of the road nor the airspace belongs to Azerbaijan.
Now, after all this, they come and say they negotiated the surrender of Meghri... There should be a limit to absurdity. Today, because of them, we do not have Artsakh. And after all these losses, they are still negotiating about that road," Levon Kocharyan stated.
