One Should Not Speak Loudly About Prisoners and Complain: Deputy from the Civil Contract Party

The government has not provided any hope regarding accession to the EU, but steps have been taken to deepen relations with the EU. The authorities have expressed themselves very cautiously, as this is a long-term process involving visa liberalization and a free trade agreement, and we must meet serious criteria for this phase to arrive.

This was stated by Arusyak Julhakyan, a member of the National Assembly from the Civil Contract faction, in an interview with 24News.

“After the voting, we will not find ourselves in the EU the next morning. I urge the public to temper their expectations and understand that we need to strive to reach a place,” emphasized the deputy.

Speaking about the fake trials taking place in Baku, Julhakyan noted that the government is doing its job and this is not a topic that should be heavily discussed or amplified. “In every matter, a public statement is not always useful; one must understand what results will follow. No meeting involving representatives of the RA government takes place without discussing the issue of prisoners, and sufficient work is being done. The criticisms are unwarranted. One should not speak loudly about prisoners and complain; I do not evaluate our work poorly,” she stated.
