Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Pashinyan's Article

The statements reflected in Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's article, claiming that Azerbaijan is preparing to attack Armenia, are "baseless and aimed at distorting reality and misleading the international community," said Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Recall that Pashinyan wrote in his article that "threats against the security of the Republic of Armenia are generated directly in Azerbaijan. Despite the agreements made in Prague, statements undermining the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia have been voiced by high-ranking officials of Azerbaijan."

“These statements are articulated in more complete terms in the so-called ‘Western Azerbaijan’ discourse, which is sponsored by the highest leadership of Azerbaijan, where about 60 percent of the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia is referred to as ‘territories currently under the control of the Republic of Armenia’ or ‘territories controlled by the political and legal entity currently called the Republic of Armenia.’ If we now compare this with the theatrical trials taking place in Baku, the acquisition of billions worth of armaments by Azerbaijan, and the aggressive rhetoric of official Baku, it will become clear that real threats to the security of the Republic of Armenia are being generated in Azerbaijan,” Pashinyan wrote.
