At Some Point, Yerevan Will Be Forced to Make a Decision: Galuzin

It will be difficult for Armenia to maintain a dual vector approach of membership in the EAEU and the process of rapprochement with the EU, said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin.

He emphasized that at some point, Yerevan will have to make a decision regardless.

"As far as I understand, our Armenian friends say that rapprochement with the European Union should proceed step by step, and that Armenia remains a member of the Eurasian Economic Union. In any case, it will likely be difficult to maintain this dual vector approach of membership in the EAEU and the process of rapprochement with the European Union. At some point, they will have to make a decision," Galuzin told Izvestia.

It is worth mentioning that the Permanent Committee on European Integration Affairs of the Armenian National Assembly has given a positive conclusion to the bill on the start of Armenia's membership process in the European Union. The issue will be included in the agenda of the upcoming NA plenary session, which will begin on February 11.
