Pezeshkian Threatens the USA
The President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, has stated that while U.S. President Donald Trump claims to want to negotiate with Iran, he is simultaneously plotting against the country. "Trump constantly says he is ready to negotiate with Iran, yet he signs anti-Iranian decrees. The U.S. can only dream of bringing Iran to its knees," Pezeshkian said during a festive ceremony commemorating the 46th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution. His speech was broadcast live on IRIB channel.
According to the Iranian president, the Iranian people are united in resisting the plots of unfriendly countries against their nation. "The enemy is trying to create divisions within Iranian society, believing that this will help them realize their anti-Iranian agenda. With faith in God and unity, we will emerge from this crisis," Pezeshkian stated.
It is noteworthy that on February 4, Trump signed an order aimed at applying maximum pressure on Iran, which includes specific measures from Washington to reduce Iranian oil exports. At the same time, Trump mentioned the possibility of reaching a 'deal' with Iran and meeting with President Pezeshkian for that purpose. The Iranian side considers this unfeasible, indicating that negotiating with the U.S. under pressure and threats would mean conceding positions, even tantamount to 'capitulation.'
Previously, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi officially announced that this new attempt by the U.S. to impose pressure on Tehran would inevitably fail. Iran's Minister of Defense, Aziz Nasirzadeh, also stated that it is impossible to negotiate with the U.S. in the presence of sanctions and threats.
