Iran's Armed Forces Ready to Respond to Any Threat, Says Chief of Staff
The Iranian armed forces are prepared to respond to any external threats. This was announced by the Chief of Staff of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Mohammad Bagheri.
"The armed forces are in better shape than ever and are ready to respond to any threat," the general's words are quoted by the press service of Iran's Ministry of Defense.
This statement came in response to a question about Iran's potential response to a possible strike on the republic's territory by the United States and Israel, which has reportedly been discussed during recent talks between U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
On February 4, Donald Trump signed an order to restore maximum pressure on Iran. The document also aims to intensify Washington's efforts to reduce Iranian oil exports. At the same time, Trump considered the possibility of a meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and expressed a desire to strike a major deal with Tehran.
Trump signed the order at the White House before meeting with Netanyahu.
