The Ball is in the EU's Court: Kobakhidze
The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, demands justice from the EU and a change in its approach towards Tbilisi. In an interview with Euronews, he stated, "Georgia is ready to resume negotiations on EU membership if Brussels changes its attitude towards Tbilisi." Kobakhidze expressed dissatisfaction with the current state of relations, saying, "We are interested in establishing healthy relations with the European Union, which is not the case at the moment, but we are confident that it is not due to Georgia’s politics."
He criticized the "European bureaucracy" and reiterated his optimistic view that Georgia will become an EU member by 2030. Kobakhidze added that "the ball is in the EU's court," urging the alliance to adopt a more flexible approach towards new members.
