Current Situation on Armenia's Roads
The Emergency Situations Service reports that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in Armenia.
The roads leading from the "Amberd" high mountainous meteorological station in the Aragatsotn province to the Kari Lake and Amberd Fortress are closed. The roads connecting Vanadzor-Dilijan, Vanadzor-Step'anavan, Vanadzor-Alaverdi, and Vanadzor-Spitak are closed for heavy trucks. The road from the Jermuk intersection to the area known as "Zanger" is closed for tractor-trailer trucks. The Novemberyan-Gosheapar-Kirants road is closed for heavy vehicles and difficult for passenger cars. The Dilijan serpentine roads are difficult for heavy trucks. The Berd-Jambarak road is impassable for all types of vehicles. The roads in the Syunik province are also difficult to navigate.
In the Syunik province, in the Aragats region, it is snowing in the cities of Vanadzor, Step'anavan, Tashir, Spitak, and Hrazdan. In the Ararat province, there is fog in the city of Goris. In the Vardenyats mountain pass, in the area known as "Zanger" in Sisian, and in the Ashotsk region, there is a snowstorm. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia’s Emergency Department and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia's North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles.
