Peskov on Trump's Decision
Russia intends to continue its close relations with Iran. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation.
“We intend to continue our close relationships with Iran, which is our partner. We have extensive cooperation in various sectors and will continue and develop this,” Peskov said in response to journalists' questions about Trump's decision to resume the policy of 'maximum pressure' on Iran.
On February 4, U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order to apply maximum pressure against Iran while expressing hope that the United States would not have to resort to it frequently. In response, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that the policy of 'maximum pressure' proposed by Donald Trump has failed.
