Who and Why Killed Armen Sargsyan: Theories

The murder of Armen Sargsyan, founder of the Arbat Battalion, has raised several theories, one of which points to his involvement in the tobacco business and the supply of cigarettes to Russia. This was reported by SHOT. According to the Telegram channel, Sargsyan was engaged in the production of counterfeit Armenian cigarette brands, which were subsequently supplied to Russia. Allegedly, this has displeased companies in Yerevan engaged in original tobacco production.

According to preliminary theories, before the murder, these companies had approached Sargsyan, asking him to abandon his business. They had held several meetings with him that turned out to be fruitless.

It is noted that, according to circulating information in the Russian press, the bombing was carried out by a 55-year-old suicide bomber named Paruir, who was previously convicted and was a citizen of Armenia. The latter also died in the incident.
