New Service Brings New Price: Member of Parliament Discusses Transportation Cost Changes
The increase in transportation costs is deemed justified by Heiknaz Tigranyan, a member of the National Assembly from the ruling Civil Contract party.
“Let’s say why the price should rise: because the quality of service is changing, the level of service provision is changing, and, naturally, the new service brings a new price,” Tigranyan said in a press briefing with journalists.
Addressing a question related to the boycott, Tigranyan mentioned that he has not seen socially vulnerable groups among the boycotters, as a discount system and benefits are in place for those individuals.
The MP also reminded that the scope of those benefiting from these privileges has expanded, regardless of whether they are registered in Yerevan.
According to him, the boycotts are being carried out by political forces, and this is unrelated to the increase in transportation costs.
