Investigation Launched Against Benjamin Netanyahu's Wife in Israel
The Israeli police have launched an investigation against Sara Netanyahu, the wife of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, following allegations raised during a broadcast on N12 television in 2024. Reports suggest that she attempted to intimidate a witness and interfere with judicial proceedings related to three cases of misconduct involving her husband.
According to The Times of Israel, opposition Knesset member Naama Lazim reported that the attorney general informed her that an investigation against Sara Netanyahu commenced on December 26, 2024, in response to her inquiry.
N12 had previously reported that the Prime Minister's wife instructed her husband’s assistant to organize protests to exert pressure on a witness in one of the three cases, in which Netanyahu is testifying in court.
On January 27, sessions resumed at the Tel Aviv District Court, after a nearly month-long recess, concerning three corruption, fraud, and bribery cases involving the Prime Minister. This makes Netanyahu the first sitting head of the Israeli government to testify in court. Netanyahu himself denies the allegations.
