U.S. President Donald Trump has banned gender transition surgeries for individuals under the age of 19 through an executive order. This was announced by the White House.

"Gender transition surgeries are a dangerous trend, a stain on our country’s history, and they must come to an end. There will be no funding, no sponsorship, no encouragement, nor support for the transition of a child from one gender to another, and all laws that prohibit or restrict these destructive and life-altering procedures will be strictly enforced," the text of the published executive order states.
