Love Your Country as Yourself: Nikol Pashinyan

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, has shared a video on social media, with the accompanying text: “Love your country as yourself, because your country is your identity, dear Citizen of Armenia.”

It is noteworthy that the video features a clip from an interview he gave to Public Television, where he states: “Our identity is tied to the Republic of Armenia. I have no other identity. In the modern world, identities are connected to states. Yesterday, I was meeting with a group of Swiss-Armenians, and I was saying that we are called unpatriotic and accused of destroying our identity. Every year, tens of thousands of Armenians forget the last word they knew in Armenian. The means to ensure identity is the state. If you have a state, you will have an identity; if you do not have a state, you will not have an identity. Everything else is a legend.”
