The Term 'National' Has Not Been Removed from Any Organization Names, Says Taguhi Ghazaryan

Member of Parliament Taguhi Ghazaryan has addressed reports circulating since yesterday regarding the alleged removal of the term 'national' from the names of cultural organizations operating in Armenia, asserting that this information is false.

'Various media outlets have been spreading misinformation since yesterday, claiming that the term 'national' will be removed from the names of cultural organizations in Armenia. However, the law we voted on in the National Assembly regulates not the names of organizations, but their statuses. From now on, cultural organizations will have 'republican', 'regional', and 'local' statuses, and this is not about names. No organization's name has been changed. The term 'national' has not been removed from any organization's name. For example, we will still have the 'National Library of Armenia' as a republican library, or 'National Gallery of Armenia' as a republican gallery, or the 'National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet' as a republican theatre, and so on,' Ghazaryan wrote.
