Armenian Actors Star in ‘Anora’ Nominated for Oscar’s Best Picture

Shawn Baker’s drama ‘Anora’ is nominated for the ‘Best Picture’ award at the Academy Awards. The film is also submitted in categories for Best Director, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Original Screenplay.

Competing for this year’s Best Picture title are ‘Brutalist’, ‘Complete Unknown’, ‘Conclave’, ‘Dune: Part Two’, ‘Emilia Pérez’, ‘I’m Still Here’, ‘Nickel Boys’, ‘Substance’, and ‘Char’.

The 97th Academy Awards ceremony will take place on March 3.

Featuring Armenian actors Karen Karagulian and Vache Thomasian, ‘Anora’ has also garnered recognition at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival where it received the Palme d'Or award.
