Armed Attack on Armenian School in Turkey
An armed attack occurred on the Tatyana Armenian private school in the Bakirkoy district of Istanbul on the morning of January 22. According to Akunq.net, the attack resulted in broken windows and visible bullet holes in the walls of the Armenian school. During a search of one of the arrested suspects' homes, an illegally used handgun was discovered.
Prior to this, police, after reviewing security camera footage, determined that one of the two suspects fired towards the Armenian school while the other collected empty shell casings. Noticing that the suspects were hiding in a lodge, police took action against them.
The suspects, identified as Sh.K. and Y.Ch., were arrested. According to a clarification from the Istanbul security department regarding this matter, it has been revealed that the suspects have previously committed various crimes. During the search of their home, a handgun and 14 cartridges were found.
Suspect Y.Ch. was released after questioning, and his case file was sent to the relevant judicial authorities. Regarding the other suspect, Sh.K. was handed over to the courts on charges of 'causing damage to property', 'deliberately endangering public safety', and other accusations.
