Why the Government is Entering the Citizen's Pocket, Says Prime Minister
Hailing the importance of universal declaration, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at a Q&A session in the National Assembly that it is a crucial function for reducing the shadow economy.
“Even large businesses have loopholes with various expense reports, reducing profits to transfer funds to different individuals, including relatives. This way, we are creating and shaping a fair tax mechanism for businesses,” the Prime Minister noted.
According to him, they also want each citizen to have a folder where they can log in daily to see how much tax they have generated for the state.
Nikol Pashinyan emphasized, “This is one of the factors that should strengthen the relationship between the citizen and the state. I have also heard this type of discourse, where people say, ‘Why is the government entering the citizen's pocket?’ Who does the government belong to, dear people? The government belongs to those who say this. When someone says, ‘Why does the government want to enter my pocket?’ the government is not entering their pocket; they are checking their right pocket with one hand and their left with the other. That government is that person, and that government does not enter anyone's pocket; the government approaches that person and says, ‘Brother, you are my master; do not alienate me; you are my master.’”
