Dangerous Storms Lashing the U.S. Pose 'Life-Threatening' Risks

On Tuesday, U.S. meteorologists and government officials issued urgent warnings about a 'life-threatening' polar vortex that will bring extreme cold, with temperatures plummeting to as low as -50℃. Researchers have also cautioned that approximately 235 million people living in at-risk areas could be affected, as reported by Daily Mail.

The low temperatures are expected to last for about three days, creating additional strain on heating systems and electrical grids. Local authorities are not ruling out school closures in response to the severe cold. Moreover, experts are warning of an increased risk of frostbite, hypothermia, and adverse effects on the immune system.

Experts indicate that the harsh cold will persist for around three days, impacting regions from the Gulf Coast to New England, the Great Lakes, and the Midwestern states.
