Tense Situation on Sevan-Yerevan Highway as Fishermen Block Road

Fishermen have blocked the Sevan-Yerevan highway, demanding permission from the authorities to catch fish within their legal quotas. According to sources at the protest site, the demonstrators are demanding permission from the National Park to legally catch the fish they are entitled to.

It should be noted that fishing in Lake Sevan is prohibited from November 15, 2024, until January 20 of this year, due to spawning. Today marks the end of the stipulated period, yet fishermen have not yet received the necessary permits.
