A Completely Correct and Wise Response to Azerbaijan's Demands: Stefan Müller-Altermatt
Stefan Müller-Altermatt, a member of the Swiss National Council, considers Armenia's presented "Peace Crossroads" initiative a completely correct and wise response to the claims and demands formulated by Azerbaijan.
In an interview with an Armenpress correspondent, the parliamentarian expressed this opinion while addressing Armenia's "Peace Crossroads" initiative for unblocking communication routes in the South Caucasus, as well as Azerbaijan's unilateral claims and demands in this context.
According to the Swiss parliamentarian, the "Peace Crossroads" initiative is quite serious, and from a perspective of rationality and logic, no one can oppose it. "The ‘Peace Crossroads’ presented by Armenia is a completely correct and wise response to the demands and claims formulated by Azerbaijan. From a logical standpoint, no one can oppose this initiative, and the fact that Armenia has presented a serious proposal for peace reveals the aggressor, which can be found in Azerbaijan," emphasized the parliamentarian.
He noted that the "Peace Crossroads" initiative contributes to peace but also lacks other issues that are related to Armenians. In his view, it is very important for the international community to work not only towards the implementation of the "Peace Crossroads" initiative but also to support the return of Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh to their homeland and the protection of their other rights.
"It is imperative that the international community works to ensure that the injustice done in Artsakh is not forgotten. It is understandable that Nikol Pashinyan's government cannot present any demands in its peace programs, given its relatively weak position. Therefore, it is important for the international community to demand not only the implementation of the ‘Peace Crossroads’ but also the right for Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh to return, their right to self-determination, and the protection of their cultural heritage," stressed Swiss parliamentarian Stefan Müller-Altermatt.
