Yemeni Houthis Claim to Have Struck an Israeli Power Plant with Cruise Missiles

The Shiite political-military movement Ansar Allah (Houthis), which governs northern Yemen, has announced that it has targeted a power plant located in Eilat, southern Israel, with a cruise missile, while also attacking Tel Aviv with drones.

“We have carried out a military operation against the enemy's power plant in the occupied southern Palestine, in Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat), using a cruise missile,” the statement from the Houthi armed forces, broadcast on the Al Masirah TV channel, reads.

“We have also conducted a high-quality military operation against Israeli enemy targets in the occupied Jaffa (Tel Aviv) using several drones. Both operations successfully achieved their objectives,” the statement added.

The Houthis have intensified their attacks on Israeli territory following U.S. and Israeli airstrikes against Yemen on Friday, which targeted the main power plant in the capital and an oil port in the west of the country.
