Israeli Army Strikes Armed Group in Lebanon

The Israeli forces have attacked a group of armed individuals who exited a military facility associated with the Hezbollah Shiite organization located in southern Lebanon. This information has been reported by the army's press service, as noted by TASS.

"Earlier today, on Saturday, several terrorists were identified leaving the military complex in southern Lebanon used by the Hezbollah terrorist organization. An Israeli Air Force aircraft targeted the terrorists to eliminate the threat," the statement reads.

The army emphasized that its actions do not violate the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, and the Israeli side remains committed to the agreements. However, they are taking and will continue to take measures against any threats to the State of Israel and its citizens.

A ceasefire agreement, marking the first such agreement between Israel and Lebanon after an outbreak of military operations in October 2023, came into effect on the morning of November 27, 2024. U.S. President Joe Biden stated that agreements between the Jewish state and Hezbollah envision the restoration of control by the Lebanese army and state security forces over the territory of the republic within 60 days. Following this, the Israeli army will gradually withdraw from Lebanon.
