Danger Persists: Glendale Mayor Provides Details

Yesterday in Glendale, two districts were evacuated, but this morning we announced that everyone can return home, and they have done so. Glendale Mayor Elen Asatryan shared this with NEWS.am.

“The doors of the support center were also closed at 12 PM, as there is no longer a need for it at this moment,” Asatryan stated. According to her, although there was no fire in Glendale, residents from nearby neighborhoods near the fire hotspots had been evacuated. Yesterday, there were 100 citizens in the support center, and today they have all returned to their homes.

“It has been announced that in the coming days, the wind may strengthen again, posing a risk for the fire to spread. I hope that the firefighters will be able to extinguish the flames before that happens,” remarked the Glendale Mayor.

According to the mayor, although there is no fire in the city, the air is polluted, making it very difficult for residents to go outside.

Wildfires have been raging in California since January 7, and it is considered one of the most destructive in the state's history. The rapid spread of the fire is due to strong winds and low humidity. The death toll has reached 10.
