Greenland Authorities Ready to Negotiate with Trump

Greenland's authorities are eagerly awaiting to establish contact with the newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump's administration and are prepared to discuss cooperation in the business and mining sectors, according to Greenland's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Independence, Vivian Motzfeldt. This was reported by РИА Новости.

“Greenland hopes to discuss opportunities for collaboration in business, the development of Greenland's mining sector, including critical minerals and other areas with the United States... (The government of Greenland) expects to establish contact with newly elected President Donald Trump and his new administration,” stated a press release published on the Greenland government’s website.

Trump stated on January 7 that Greenland should be part of the United States, highlighting its strategic importance for national security and the defense of the 'free world' against threats from China and Russia. Meanwhile, Greenland's Prime Minister Mute Egede has emphasized that the island is not for sale and will never be sold.
