Jesus Christ Statue Will Not Be Installed in Monument Area

Excavations have been conducted at the summit of Mount Hatis as part of a memorandum, with a section of the monument fully distinguished and recognized as a newly uncovered site. This was stated by Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan while addressing the progress of the construction works for the Jesus Christ statue and the ongoing excavations.

“I do not know where it will be installed, but I am confident that it will not be placed in the area of the monument, and I can assure you of that, because the excavations were also carried out to help us visualize the entire area of the monument,” she emphasized.

Commenting on the results of the excavations, Andreasyan expressed hope that the area could become an interesting tourist destination. “I should also mention that we have intriguing finds, old coins; it is about a Cyclopean fortress. I myself have been in the excavation area, and I believe that this could become an interesting tourist location,” she stated.
