UAE Proposes Deployment of Mercenaries in Gaza: Reuters
The UAE, the USA, and Israel have held secret discussions regarding the post-war future of the Gaza Strip. According to RTVI, as reported by Reuters, one of the key points of the plan, which has not yet been agreed upon or documented, is the involvement of a private military company under a peacekeeping status.
Moreover, Emirati representatives have indicated that former Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad is being considered as one of the candidates for the leadership of the new regional administration.
The UAE closely collaborates with the United States in the security sector and, unlike many Arab countries, maintains diplomatic relations with Israel, despite having criticized the actions of the Israeli military on numerous occasions. Both Jerusalem and Abu Dhabi also hold a negative stance towards Hamas.
One of the issues related to the conflict between Israel and Palestinian militants is the uncertain future of the Gaza Strip, notes Reuters. According to the agency's sources, the Jewish state is "reluctantly expressing its own vision," while other countries are trying to "formulate a viable plan" for conflict resolution.
