Israel Shelled from Gaza Strip

Palestinian radicals have once again shelled the border areas of southern Israel from the Gaza Strip. This is reported by TASS.

According to the press service of the Israel Defense Forces, the military recorded at least one rocket launch from the northern part of the Palestinian enclave, which fell near the Erez crossing point. Due to the rocket threat, an airstrike alert has been declared in the vicinity of the Israeli border village of Netiv HaAsara. There are no reports of casualties.

The shelling of Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip, which had almost ceased in the second half of 2024, has noticeably increased in recent weeks. The Israeli military is also intensifying its attacks on the enclave. On January 3, the military reported airstrikes on 40 targets in the region. Earlier, Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz warned that if the armed forces of the Palestinian radical Hamas movement continue their bombardments, Israel intends to strike with "unprecedented force" against the Gaza Strip.
