Macron Accuses Elon Musk in Speech Without Naming Him

French President Emmanuel Macron, speaking at an event with French ambassadors in Paris, accused billionaire and owner of X social network Elon Musk of interfering in European politics. While Macron did not mention Musk by name, it was evident from his speech that he was referring to the entrepreneur, as noted by Politico.

“Who could have imagined 10 years ago that the owner of one of the world’s largest social networks would support and directly interfere in elections, including in Germany?” said the French president.

Macron also touched upon the topic of the war in Ukraine during his speech. He believes that Kyiv should conduct “realistic negotiations on territorial issues,” noting that “only they can carry it out.”

“The United States must help us change the situation and convince Russia to come to the negotiating table, while Europe must take primary responsibility for guaranteeing Ukraine’s security,” Macron was quoted by RFI Russian Service.

He emphasized that despite the promises of newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump to resolve the conflict as soon as possible, “there will be no quick and easy solution for Ukraine.” Macron also noted that European countries cannot afford to let Russia win the war, as it would jeopardize international order and the security of Europe.
