Kyokh on the Accusation of Tigran Khachatryan Endangering Soldiers' Lives
“I don’t know which wartime episode the accusation refers to; the details have not been disclosed, but Tigran Khachatryan has been a patriotic and noble warrior since the first Artsakh war and in the 44-day wars of 2016 and 2020. This is an undeniable fact,” said Artsakh hero, Colonel Karen Jalavyan (Kyokh), near the Mother Cathedral of Echmiadzin, in response to questions regarding Khachatryan's arrest.
He noted that, in his opinion, Khachatryan could not have carried out actions that would endanger soldiers’ lives, and the investigation will clarify the remaining aspects and provide an assessment. “I know him as a follower of Christ, a skilled military man, an experienced general,” he added.
Addressing the conclusions of the investigative commission on the 44-day war, he stated that he does not know who was involved in the commission, and how professional their analysis is, but he believes that the reasons for losses and shortcomings stem from a departure from God.
When asked if there are those to blame for the defeat, he replied that he does not know, and analyses will be conducted over time to provide answers. “Without a doubt, all circumstances will be clarified over time, but when, only God knows,” Kyokh noted, assessing the causes of the outcome of the 44-day war.
