Austrian Chancellor to Step Down

Following the failure of coalition negotiations, Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer has announced his resignation on social media. According to РИА Новости, he stated, “In the coming days, I will resign from the positions of Federal Chancellor and President of the Austrian People's Party.” Earlier on Saturday, Nehammer had indicated that reaching an agreement in coalition talks with the Social Democrats was not possible.
