Lukashenko Comments on Incident with Pashinyan at EAEU Meeting
The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, has commented on the incident with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan that occurred during the EAEU meeting held in Saint Petersburg on December 26.
"This was for you, so that it would be more fun; otherwise, there wouldn't be anything interesting to watch," Lukashenko said to journalists following the resonant dialogue with Pashinyan during the EAEU meeting.
Recall that during the meeting, Pashinyan announced that the Armenian delegation would not go to Minsk for the next EAEU summit but would participate remotely. Earlier, he had declared, "I will never visit Belarus while Alexander Lukashenko is president. From this moment on, no official representative of Armenia will visit Belarus." He reminded the assembly about this statement.
In response, Lukashenko said they would consider Pashinyan's statement, to which Pashinyan retorted that no one could consider his statement. Lukashenko remarked that they might consider the option of turning off the television so that Pashinyan could not participate in the meeting.
