Snow and Fog: Which Roads Are Closed

The Emergency Service reports that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads within the territory of Armenia.

The road from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station to Karch Lake is closed in the Aragatsotn region. The Vardenyats Pass and the Artashavan-Tzilkhar road are difficult for all types of vehicles to navigate.

The Spitak bends and the Stepanavan-Vanadzor, Vanadzor-Dilijan roads are challenging for trucks with trailers. In the Aparan region, in the village of Tzilkhar, at Vardenyats Pass, as well as in the cities of Jermuk, Dilijan, Gavar, Sisian, and in the villages of Lanjanist, Lusashogh, and Lanjarr, snow is present. There is also black ice in the "Meghruni Sar," "Zanger"-Tzghuk sections and in the Tigranashen bends.

In the area known as "Chainy Bends" and on the roads of Syunik province, there are patches of black ice. Fog is present on the Yerevan-Sevan highway, particularly in the villages of Mayakovski, Balakhovit, Jrvaj, and Dzoraghbyur, as well as in the Talin region. There is a blizzard reported on the Aparan-Nigavan road and in the Aragats region.
