Is Animal Hunting Becoming Easier? Clarifications from the Nature Protection Agency

Numerous observations have been made that by publishing footage captured by cameras in the territory of the Zangezur Biosphere Complex of the Ministry of Environment, citizens are given the opportunity to hunt the local wildlife.

Auroranews contacted the Zangezur Biosphere Complex to clarify whether the citizens' observations could correspond to reality.

In response to our clarifying questions, the agency stated that the protected area is quite large. "The specific location is not mentioned in the publication, and besides, there is quite good protection in place. Snow leopards generally do not stay in the same area; experience has shown that they are in constant migration and change their habitats," representatives from the Zangezur Biosphere Complex noted.

It should be recalled that the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Armenia, Hakob Simidyan, wrote: "All of this indicates the restoration of our country's biodiversity and ecological wealth, and it is also the result of effective conservation efforts in specially protected natural areas."
