Closed and Impassable Roads in Armenia

The Rescue Service has reported that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of Armenia.

The road from the 'Amberd' high-altitude meteorological station in Aragatsotn Province to the Kari Lake is closed. The Vardenyats Pass (snow, fog) is closed for trucks with trailers.

The Artashavan-Tsilkqar road is closed for trucks. The twists of Spitak and the roads from Stepanavan to Vanadzor and from Vanadzor to Dilijan are difficult to navigate for trucks with trailers.

In the regions of Aparan, Aragats, and Talin (fog), and in the cities of Jermuk, Dilijan, Gavar, Sisian, as well as in the villages of Lanjanist, Lusashogh, Lanjarr, the sections of 'Meghri Mountain', 'Zanger'-Tsghuk, and in the twists of Tigranashen (black ice), there is snow on the ground.

In the sections called Saralaj-'Zanger' and 'Chaini Twists', as well as on the roads in the Syunik region, there are patches of black ice.

On the Yerevan-Sevan road, there is fog in the villages of Mayakovski, Balakhovit, Jrvajh, and Zoragbyur.

There is a blizzard on the Aparan-Nigavan road, in the Aragats region, and in the village of Tsilkqar.

About Lars

Due to the snow falling in the Gudauri-Kobi section of the international Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars road, the Khevi Pass has been closed for freight transport in both directions. The road remains open for light passenger vehicles.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
