Pashinyan Summarizes Outcomes of Armenia's Presidency in EAEU

During 2024, when Armenia held the presidency in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the union's main priorities included economic cooperation, the establishment of common markets in the energy sector, the removal of barriers in the EAEU internal market, the development of transport and logistics infrastructure, and the strengthening of international relations. This was announced today by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who joined the meeting of the EAEU Supreme Economic Council via video conference.

"Armenia's presidency is coming to an end, and during our tenure, EAEU priorities have also included the development of cooperative potential and digital technologies, as well as the consolidation of the IT sector's capacity to implement innovative solutions in the agricultural system," he noted.

Summarizing the outcomes of Armenia's presidency in the EAEU, the Prime Minister promised to provide details on the upcoming developments in Armenia in 2024 after discussions by the Eurasian Economic Commission.

It is noteworthy that Pashinyan has contracted COVID-19. He announced that due to a positive test, he would not participate in the informal CIS summit scheduled to take place in Saint Petersburg.

Today’s meeting of the EAEU Supreme Economic Council was also attended by Armenia's Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan.
