Five Police Officers Dismissed from Service

On December 25, a regular session of the Disciplinary Commission of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was held, chaired by Ara Fidanyan, the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The meeting included the head of the Human Resources Department of the Ministry, the deputy chief of police, the acting head of the Department for Strategic Planning, Policy Development and Monitoring, the chief lawyer of the Prime Minister's Office, as well as representatives from various NGOs involved in the disciplinary committee.

During the session, materials and conclusions from an internal investigation into six police officers were examined and discussed. After analyzing the factual circumstances, the Disciplinary Commission decided to recommend to the officials who initiated the investigation to subject five police officers to disciplinary action, proposing to apply the disciplinary penalty of “dismissal from the police department,” while the discussion regarding one officer was postponed.
