Video: Protesters Burn U.S. Flag in Panama

In Panama, protesters have burned the American flag following Donald Trump's announcement that he wishes to regain control of the Panama Canal.

Just a few days ago, Trump stated that the U.S. would demand the return of control over the canal if Panama did not reduce the tariffs on ship traffic. In response, Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino declared that the canal fully belongs to his country.

The Panama Canal was opened in June 1920. It connects the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans and plays a key role in international trade, particularly for Russia, which is under sanctions.
