Major Car Accident in Garni: Fatalities and Injuries

On December 24, at 14:00, the crisis management center of the Kotayk regional rescue service received information about a car accident at the beginning of the village of Garni, where vehicles had collided, resulting in fatalities and injuries. There was a fuel leak reported as well. This information was provided by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

A firefighting and rescue team from the ministry's regional emergency service was dispatched to the scene. It was determined that a Honda (driver A. A., born in 1992) and an Opel (driver R. Kh., born in 1960) had collided. The driver of the Honda and a passenger A. O. (born in 1990) were pronounced dead at the scene.

Before rescuers arrived, the driver of the Opel was hospitalized at a medical center. Rescuers have secured the gas cylinder valve of the Honda vehicle.
