New Agreement to Address Drivers' Issues

New Agreement to Address Drivers' Issues

On December 3, 25 out of 32 drivers released from the "Yerevan Bus" LLC applied for reinstatement, with 11 drivers already having been reinstated. This information was provided by the Yerevan Municipality in response to a written inquiry from Sputnik Armenia.

As of December 13, there are 1,192 drivers working at "Yerevan Bus" LLC. The company currently has 85 vacant driver positions, as reported by the municipality.

It was emphasized that an agreement has been reached to address all concerns raised by the drivers.

When asked if the actions of the drivers have been evaluated from a criminal legal perspective, the municipality did not provide a response, suggesting to contact the Armenian Prosecutor General's Office.

It should be noted that on December 3, bus drivers in Yerevan announced a strike, demanding a review of their salaries and working conditions. The municipality issued a statement indicating that, according to the law, the drivers were required to notify about the strike at least 14 days in advance, which was not done. As a result, 32 drivers were dismissed from their positions.
