Head of the State Service for Food Safety Meets with EU Ambassador
The head of the State Service for Food Safety, Armen Danielyan, received a delegation from the European Union in Armenia, led by Ambassador Vasilis Maragkos, today. This was reported by the State Service for Food Safety.
During the meeting, issues regarding the expansion of EU-Armenia bilateral trade relations were discussed, particularly the need for cooperation to eliminate obstacles to food exports from Armenia. Questions related to geographical indications (GI) were also addressed, in line with the commitments undertaken under the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
Exchanges of ideas took place concerning the identification of sectoral gaps, their elimination, and particularly the work aimed at improving the system through various programs supported by the EU.
The head of the State Service expressed hope that close cooperation would facilitate the processes during exports, which, in turn, would contribute to the development and stimulation of bilateral trade relations.
