The Issue of Nuclear Weapons Use May Arise: Russian Deputy Foreign Minister
The risks posed by Western countries at Russia's borders could lead to a situation where the issue of nuclear weapons use practically arises from Moscow. This statement was made by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov during a discussion at the Valdai International Club, as reported by Lenta.
“This is about NATO's aspiration to achieve a major nuclear defeat. Everyone can assess the consequences of a frontal clash between nuclear states. This aggressive policy is aimed at destroying Russia's security and directly poses threats for us at the borders of Russia and Belarus. Risks are being created where the question of nuclear weapons use may arise,” stated the senior diplomat.
Previously, Ryabkov had pointed out that the United States is willing to provoke strategic risks to maintain its dominance on the international stage.
