Hakob Aslanyan Summoned to the CP Administration Today

MP Hakob Aslanyan has been summoned to the administration of the ruling Civil Contract party today. This information was personally confirmed by Aslanyan in a conversation with ArmLur.am.

The Civil Contract party is holding an administrative meeting today. Following his expulsion from the faction, authorities are also set to exclude Hakob Aslanyan from the party.

Aslanyan was expelled from the faction after he announced that he would suspend his membership in the CP for a month in support of Hovik Aghazaryan.

Just hours after this announcement, Hakob Aslanyan publicly expressed his regret, stating that he had acted rashly. Moreover, as suggested by a screenshot Aslanyan published, the message of regret was sent to him by his spiritual successor, Minister of High-Tech Industry Mikitar Hayrapetyan.

Following this controversial statement by Hakob Aslanyan, the CP convened a meeting in the late evening and, after putting considerable pressure on the MP, expelled him from the faction.

According to Hayk Konjoryan, the head of the CP faction, Aslanyan was expelled due to “serious disciplinary violations, as well as behavior that is fundamentally incompatible with the values and political course adopted by the Civil Contract party.”
