Blizzard, Fog, and Black Ice: Road Conditions

The rescue service reports that there are closed roads within the territory of Armenia. The road leading from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station to Kary Lake in the Aragatsotn region is closed.

The Stepanavan serpentines are closed for trucks with trailers. The Vardenyats Pass is passable for trucks with trailers only with the use of snow chains.

There is black ice in some sections of the roads in the high-altitude zones of the Syunik region, the Gegharkunik region, as well as in Artik, Talin, Aragats, Aparan, Garni, and Ashtarak areas, with black ice present from Tigranashen bends to the Yeraskh segment.

It is currently snowing in the Aragats region. There is a blizzard on the Lanjarr-Lusashogh road, while fog is reported in the Armavir region. Drivers are advised to travel only with winter tires.

According to information received from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs Emergency Department and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations North Ossetia Crisis Management Center, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed only for trucks.
