Road Closures in Armenia: Ministry of Internal Affairs

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reports that there are closed and impassable roads in various regions of Armenia.

The highway leading from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station to Kargi Lake in the Aragatsotn region is closed.

From the Jermuk intersection, the section known as "Zanger" is closed to articulated trucks but is passable with the use of tire chains.

The Vardenyac Pass is difficult to traverse for articulated trucks, only passable with tire chains.

Roads in the Aragatsotn region are impassable.

In the Syunik region, roads in Akhuryan, Gavar, Martuni, Chambarak, and Dilijan are covered in black ice in places.

Snow is falling in the Vardenyac Pass in an area known as "Meghru Sar." Fog is present on the roads in the Ararat and Artashat regions.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.

According to data from the Emergency Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the North Ossetia Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, the Stepantsminda-Larsi road is open for all types of vehicles.
