Was the Rise in Liquid Gas Prices Related to the Lars Road? A Question for Papoyan
During the government briefing, Armenia's Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan announced that the situation related to the Lars border crossing is gradually improving. The minister noted, “If there were about 4200 vehicles there 3-4 days ago, of which 1000-1200 were Armenian vehicles, now, as of yesterday, the number of Armenian vehicles has decreased to about 700-800.”
He added that this figure pertains to both outgoing and incoming traffic. However, he also mentioned that the problem remains complicated, as snowfall in the evening could increase the number of vehicles from 700 to 1500 in just one day. Papoyan reported that he had discussed the traffic jams at Lars with responsible officials, indicating that some issues were also technical. “The snow had fallen, and they had cleared it but piled the snow at the edges of the road. If back then 3-4 vehicles were passing, now it's 1-2, which means the road has narrowed,” said Papoyan.
In response to the question regarding whether the rise in liquid gas prices was related to the Lars road situation, Papoyan stated that there are numerous factors affecting the increase in liquid gas prices, including logistical issues in transportation, changes in prices elsewhere, and so on.
