VIDEO: Protests Reignite in Tbilisi
Protesters have gathered once again in the center of Tbilisi, specifically on Rustaveli Avenue, in front of the Parliament of Georgia. This marks the 12th consecutive evening of demonstrations, according to a correspondent from РИА Новости.
The police are not intervening in the ongoing situation, merely blocking vehicle movement along Rustaveli Avenue.
The latest wave of opposition protests in Georgia began on November 28 after Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili announced the decision to suspend discussions on the country’s EU membership negotiations until 2028. Protesters are using firecrackers, stones, and bottles, and reports indicate that Molotov cocktails have been discovered at the site of the clashes.
Security forces are responding with special equipment, including water cannons.
