Aleppo Armenians Receive Security Guarantees

Aleppo Armenians have received security guarantees from the city's military authorities. Archbishop Makary Ashkaryan of the Berio region informed “Azatutyun” earlier today that this was shared with representatives of other Christian communities in Aleppo during a meeting.

“We can say that there will be security, we should not be afraid. On the contrary, we should hope that in the near future, everything will be fine. They say it would be good for everyone to go back to work, even though we are facing some economic difficulties. The banks are closed and schools remain closed. However, in the near future, likely within a week, universities and schools will begin to return to their normal operations. We hope that the banking situation will stabilize as well,” stated Ashkaryan.

According to the archbishop, the situation in the city is peaceful.
