Damascus Has Fallen: The Former Syria No Longer Exists

Armed terrorist groups have taken control of the prison in Syria's capital, Damascus, and have released all prisoners, reports Al Jazeera.

“Early on Sunday, the armed opposition announced that they had stormed the prison located on the outskirts of Damascus and managed to free the inmates,” the network reports.

Damascus International Airport has suspended incoming and outgoing flights. Militants have taken control of Damascus, according to Al Hadath television. Footage has been published online showing people fleeing from the airport.

The militants have also seized the building of the Syrian state radio and television.
